
January 27, 2025 – McMinnville, OR – The Center for Wine Education at Linfield University invites the public to a lecture on Thursday, March 6, 2025, featuring internationally acclaimed journalist and wine expert Felicity Carter. Carter will discuss the shifting perceptions of wine, historically enjoyed for its pleasure and moderation, and its growing portrayal as a dangerous substance to avoid.
This timely lecture, part of the Marka and Thomas Hughes Endowed Wine Lecture Series, will delve into the World Health Organization’s zero-alcohol policy, the players behind it, and its implications for the wine industry and consumers alike.
Based in Europe, Felicity Carter is a trailblazer in wine journalism and communication. She is the founder of the Drinks Insider podcast and serves as Editorial Director of a London-based fine wine think tank. Carter’s career includes Editor in Chief of Meininger’s Wine Business International, editorial consultant for Liv-ex, and founding Executive Editor of The Drop at Pix. She is known for her expertise in global wine trends, wine tourism, writing, and judges international wine competitions.
