The immersive press tour promoted by the Garda DOC Consortium as part of the European project “DOP Excellence: A Truly European Savoir-Faire” returns to Lake Garda from June 4th to 6th”, exploring data, the territory, and positioning strategies
May 29, 2025 — The 2025 edition of Garda Wine Stories is back — the event organized by the Garda DOC Consortium, which will welcome international media from June 4th to 6th in the heart of Lake Garda for an exclusive press tour to discover the region, its outstanding agri-food products, and the unique identity of the Garda DOC designation.

The initiative is part of the broader European project “DOP Excellence: A Truly European Savoir-Faire,” co-financed by the European Union, with the goal of strengthening the awareness and competitiveness of four DOP products that embody European craftsmanship: Garda DOC Wines, Salame di Varzi DOP, Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo DOP, and Montasio DOP Cheese.
Through tastings, winery visits, discussions, and in-depth sessions, the program offers to participants an immersive journey that blends storytelling, production quality, and the promotion of the region. Among the most anticipated events of this fourth edition is the conference scheduled for Thursday, June 5th, at the Dogana Veneta in Lazise, titled “Garda DOC Between HoReCa and Large-Scale Retail: Numbers, Perceptions, and Perspectives.”
The meeting will provide a detailed analysis of the designation’s performance through data from the Distributor Observatory and insights from large-scale retail buyers, serving as a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the DOC’s positioning in today’s market.
“Garda Wine Stories is not just an event but a structured project that, year after year, is allowing us to build a modern, competitive denomination aligned with current market dynamics. We are working from a solid foundation based on data and analysis, helping us deeply understand our territory’s potential and promote it sustainably. 2025 marks a strategic step: from understanding how the denomination is perceived to engaging directly with key distribution players, we are ready to chart a course toward a DOC Garda that is increasingly recognizable, present, and valued across HoReCa, large-scale retail, and international channels,” said Paolo Fiorini, President of the Garda DOC Consortium.
Garda Wine Stories thus confirms itself as a powerful tool for storytelling and promotion with a strong sense of identity, designed to build a coherent and contemporary image of the denomination through the voices of producers, direct experiences of the region, and the sharing of data emerging from research and analysis conducted in recent years.
This evolution has also been made possible thanks to the European project “DOP Excellence: A Truly European Savoir-Faire,” as highlighted by Paolo Fiorini, President of the Garda DOC Consortium:
“Today, Garda Wine Stories stands as a concrete example of how a denomination can narrate itself with depth and consistency within a European vision. The project has allowed us to establish a virtuous dialogue between territorial identity and market dynamics, enhancing the DOP label as both a cultural and competitive asset.”
The project “DOP Excellence: A Truly European Savoir-Faire” will continue into the second half of the year with new strategic initiatives, including a national television campaign, promotional activities in major Italian retail outlets — Tasting Days — and additional study tours throughout the region.
In this context, Garda Wine Stories stands out as one of the key tools for ensuring continuity in the collective narrative of the DOP excellences involved.
