Trefethen Vineyards President Tony Baldini Joins Napa Valley College’s Viticulture & Winery Technology Foundation Board

May 29, 2025 (Napa, CA) — The Napa Valley College Viticulture & Winery Technology Foundation (VWTF) is proud to announce the appointment of Tony Baldini, President of Trefethen Family Vineyards, to its Board of Directors. Baldini, a wine industry leader and second-generation Napa Valley agricultural innovator brings industry expertise and his family’s legacy to NVC’s expanding wine education mission.

Tony Baldini

A lifelong Napa Valley local and seasoned wine industry executive, Baldini has over two decades of leadership experience and a unique personal connection to the land and legacy of the region. His extensive resume includes serving as President and COO at Cliff Lede Vineyards, and President and CEO at Hahn Family Wines, with additional leadership roles at Jackson Family Wines, Constellation Wines US, Don Sebastiani & Sons, and Oracle Corporation. He holds a BA in Economics from UC Davis and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Baldini is known for his strategic leadership, innovative thinking, and commitment to family-driven, estate-based winemaking. As current President of Trefethen, he partners with third-generation family vintners Hailey and Lorenzo Trefethen to guide the Oak Knoll District estate winery into its sixth decade of success.

Baldini’s appointment to the VWTF Board of Directors marks not only a professional milestone but a deeply personal continuation of his family’s influence on Napa Valley viticulture. His father, Tony Baldini Sr., is a pioneer in Napa’s wine history, and served as vineyard manager at Trefethen for over three decades.

Baldini Sr. also helped facilitate the foundational relationship between Trefethen Family Vineyards and Napa Valley College—a relationship that led to Trefethen’s generous support of the college’s Viticulture & Winery Technology program and the creation of the Trefethen Laboratory, a cornerstone of the Napa Valley College Estate Winery Facility. His advocacy laid the groundwork for what has become one of the most respected community college wine education programs in the country.

“Tony Baldini Jr.’s deep understanding of Napa’s agricultural evolution, his commitment to the future of winemaking, and his history of working alongside both emerging and established wine professionals will bring valuable perspective to NVC’s board at a pivotal time. “

Carollee Cattolica, Executive Director, Viticulture and Winery Technology Foundation

“It’s an honor to join the Board of the Napa Valley College Viticulture & Winery Technology Foundation. As someone who grew up in Napa Valley and has spent my career in wine, I know firsthand how vital education and hands-on experience are to our industry’s future. Napa Valley College plays a critical role in shaping that future. I’m especially proud to continue the legacy my father, and the Trefethen family, helped build and to support the next generation of students and leaders in viticulture, winemaking, and hospitality.”
