May 29, 2025 (New York, NY) — The Decanter Fine Wine Encounter New York is just days away set to take place on June 7, 2025, at the stunning Manhatta – a Michelin selected restaurant – in Lower Manhattan.
The day will be filled with several exciting tasting experiences from the all-day Grand Tasting – featuring over 300 wines from across the globe – to three special masterclasses, and two Editors Lunch and Tours.
Deep dive into the wines and chat with the producers as they pour standout selections, each bringing a special bottle to share — whether an aged vintage or an impressive large-format.
Guests can also explore award-winning Gold, Platinum, and Best in Show wines from the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards at the exclusive DWWA Winners table and, new this year, celebrate a century of Rioja at the Rioja Bar Experience with wines spanning 100 years.
Masterclasses offer the opportunity to go deeper into the tasting experience and brands with ultra-special offerings including:
- Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame vertical, covering over 30 years of vintages, including a first taste of the newly released 2018.
- A legendary lineup from Biondi-Santi, featuring a vertical of Brunello di Montalcino, culminating with the iconic 1975 Riserva.
- A compelling exploration of Rioja’s greats, bringing together time-honoured producers and cutting-edge innovators to celebrate a region rich in both tradition and transformation.
The VIP lunch experiences will allow guests to experience, first hand, what it’s like to be a Decanter Editor. One hosted by Clive Pursehouse, Decanter’s North American Editor, focusing on the Elegance of Pinot Noir and the other by Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter’s Napa Valley Correspondent, featuring the wines of Napa Valley. It’s a one-of-a-kind, VIP experience for a small number of guests.
“We’re excited to see the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter starting to make real waves in the US,” said Clive Pursehouse, Decanter US Editor. “Now in its fourth edition, our New York event is becoming a must-attend for American wine lovers and industry insiders alike. I’m particularly pleased with the participation from Oregon and Washington State, which shows the range of the West Coast. It’s an incredible opportunity to taste world-class wines and connect with the producers who craft them. The energy and enthusiasm we see here each year is a testament to the growing appetite for fine wine in the US.”
“This year, attendees have an opportunity to sit down with me, or our Napa correspondent Jonathan, for a private lunch, talk about what’s next for American wine, and taste some exclusive pours.”
Victoria Stanage, Decanter Events and Awards director says: “I’m incredibly proud that the NYC Fine Wine Encounter is returning for its fourth year. What makes this event so special is the rare opportunity it offers to connect people with some of the world’s most renowned wineries in an intimate, iconic setting, where they’re tasting vintages that are often difficult to find anywhere else. One of my favourite moments is seeing how inspired guests are after attending their ‘bucket list’ masterclass experience, there’s definitely a magic in the air.”
