Now, their creative brilliance brings Bonterra’s story to life through a spirited new identity.

Born from the fertile soils of Mendocino County, CA in 1968, Bonterra was founded on the belief that Mother Nature’s gifts yield the finest wines. With this ethos at its heart, the new culinary identity embraces the essence of Bonterra’s organic DNA, celebrating the land’s abundance in every drop.

Designed for Bonterra’s Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc, Chuck Studios crafted a set of visual codes to amplify memorability and deepen brand recognition. Close-up macro imagery that lingers on the wine captures its deep richness and luxurious texture. The intricate details, from the glistening droplets to the subtle variations in colour, invite viewers to savor the wine’s beauty, evoking a sensory experience. Complementing this, layers of organic elements are intertwined with the wine through picture-in-picture and frame-in-frame shots, symbolising the profound connection between the vineyard and the organic product. This artistic composition magnifies the relationship between nature’s offerings and the craftsmanship behind each glass, from the soil that’s worked to grow each fruit to the water and air that makes each plant thrive, highlighting the essence of the winemaking journey.

Drawing from Bonterra’s coastal landscape, a colour palette of deep greens, earthy browns, and ocean blues anchors the visual storytelling while warm, natural light casts soft flares and shadows that mirror the golden Californian glow. 

To complete the sensory ASMR experience and bring nature’s sympathy to life, the campaign features the sound of a coastal breeze, the rustle of leaves, and the trickle of water.

This culinary identity takes centre stage in Bonterra’s latest campaign, created by Chuck Studios, a visually stunning tribute to the harmony of nature and wine. Breaking away from traditional advertising where wine typically plays a supporting role, Bonterra’s organic creations and their natural origins become the hero.

The campaign immerses viewers in Bonterra’s world through macro imagery, slow-motion sequences, and two evocative 15” product videos and three short cutdown clips. Complemented by short, captivating visual mnemonics, it showcases Bonterra’s story through paid ads on streaming platforms Hulu, Peacock and Paramount+ targeting sustainably minded wine drinkers. The campaign is also running via paid social on Instagram and Facebook and digital display ads to retarget already exposed consumers.

In a bold artistic choice, Chuck Studios juxtaposed the fluidity of wine, including its iconic ‘legs’ with the organic elegance of nature: grapevine roots intertwining like veins of a leaf, droplets cascading like ocean waves. Floral Designer Ariella Hill played an instrumental role in this vision, curating immersive on-set compositions of tonal blooms and textured foliage. The resulting visuals evoke both the tranquility and the vitality of Bonterra’s vineyards.
