The Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Debut a Full Weekend of Events at its Wind to Wine Festival, August 8-10, 2025

Ticket Sales Are Now Open for a Variety of Weekend Tasting Experiences

Petaluma, CA – May 19, 2025. The Petaluma Gap Winegrowers invite you to join us August 8-10 for a full weekend of tasting and touring at the Harvest 2025 Wind To Wine Festival. Tickets are now on sale for a variety of events where wine enthusiasts can experience the profound impact of daily wind on grapevines, while they meet the winemakers and growers who produce these beautifully crafted wines. The Petaluma Gap American Viticultural Area (AVA) is the only AVA based upon daily wind patterns; the wind thickens the skins of the berries and slows the ripening process, resulting in balanced, textured, deeply flavored, award-winning wines.

“This year we’re excited to be expanding our annual signature grand tasting to include a series of events throughout the weekend,” announced Heidi Bridenhagen, winemaker for MacRostie and President of the Board of the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers. “Beyond enjoying the wines, those who are interested in delving deeper into the Petaluma Gap and the unique effect of the wind in this AVA, can start their weekend on Friday with a choice of two intimate dinners with the winemakers: Panther Ridge and Brooks Note Winery will host a small dinner overlooking the vineyard from which Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are sourced for their wines. A second dinner, at The Fork, the culinary center at Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, will feature Montagne Russe Wines and Trombetta Family Wines during the cheesemaker’s 25th Anniversary Dinner, to celebrate their years of making extraordinary cheese in the Petaluma Gap.

On Saturday morning, Sangiacomo Family will open the gate to their renowned Roberts Road Vineyard for a walk among the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapevines that are the source of so many award-winning wines. And on Saturday afternoon MacRostie Winery will host a guided tasting at their Healdsburg Estate House to showcase Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Nightwing Vineyard, which is located at the historic Morelli property high above the Petaluma Gap floor.” Bridenhagen continued, “Later that evening the owners of Lichau Hill Vineyard will lead a sunset tour of their 3-acres of grapevines located at 1200 feet on Sonoma Mountain in Penngrove. During each of these intimate and unique events, wines produced from these vineyards will be available to try, while you hear the stories of those who are deeply involved in the winemaking process and who regularly manage the challenging but rewarding growing conditions.”

The Wind to Wine weekend festivities culminate at the Grand Tasting, featuring more than 25 wineries and taking place this year at The Backdrop in Santa Rosa, owned and operated by Becoming Independent, a non-profit organization that helps developmentally challenged individuals to lead rich and productive lives. Appetizers will be prepared by Sonoma Family Meal, also a non-profit, that, in addition to professional catering services, provides meals to working families and those who face food insecurity. Hiedi Bridenhagen explained, “We chose these organizations as partners in the production of this year’s Wind to Wine Festival as a way to give back to the community; income derived from the venue rental and professional catering will help to fund the charitable services offered by these two organizations.” In addition, Chef Charlie Palmer, Co-Founder and CEO of Appellation Hotels, will make a guest appearance with a special dish to pair with Petaluma Gap wines, Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company, PGWA’s cheese partner, will be showcasing their award-winning cheeses, and attendees will once again be able to vote for their favorite wines with the continuation of the Petaluma Gap People’s Choice awards.

Tickets for each of the weekend events are limited and expected to sell out. Visit petalumagap.com for more information and to reserve tickets for the Festival’s weekend activities.
