Paolo Fiorini confirmed as President of the Consortium for the 2025–2027 term, a sign of continuity aimed at new projects and future challenges
May 6, 2025 (Sommacampagna) — The Garda DOC Consortium, the organization that protects and promotes wines produced in the Lake Garda area — encompassing the provinces of Verona, Mantua, and Brescia — announces today the renewal of its corporate offices and the appointment of the new President and Vice Presidents.

During the Board of Directors meeting Paolo Fiorini — of Cadis 1898 SAC, agronomist, oenologist, and a prominent figure in the Verona wine industry — was confirmed as President of the Consortium. The board also confirmed the appointments of Vice Presidents Giovanna Prandini (Morenica Soc. Agr.) and Giovanni Verzini (Collis Veneto Wine Group SCA).
The Board of Directors also includes Emmanuel Gozzi (Gozzi Soc. Agr.), Vincenzo Bertola (Pratello Soc. Agr.), Chiara Tuliozi (Ricchi Soc. Agr.), Gianfranco Gambesi (Cantine Vitevis SCA), Giuseppe Fugatti (Giwine SRL), Fabio Dei Micheli (Vinicola Napoleone SRL), Luca Degani (Cantine di Verona SCA), and Paolo Contri (Contri Spumanti SPA).
“I am honored to continue serving in this role at a time of great growth for our Consortium,” said President Paolo Fiorini. “Our territory is a unique heritage, built on tradition, quality, and innovation. With its rolling hills, mild climate, and deep connection to Lake Garda, it is an extraordinary resource to be protected, shared, and promoted with passion and determination. In the coming years, our goal will be to strengthen the identity of the Garda DOC designation, enhancing its prestige both nationally and internationally.”
“The renewed trust of the Board of Directors represents an extraordinary opportunity to continue contributing to the development of our Denomination,” added Vice President Giovanna Prandini. “We will continue working alongside the President and all producers to strengthen the reputation of Garda DOC, highlighting the quality and identity of our wines.”
Vice President Giovanni Verzini concluded: “We will continue promoting our territory through targeted strategies, new commercial opportunities, and ongoing dialogue with the market.”
As part of the renewal of corporate offices, experienced and highly competent members have been confirmed, who, together with the President, will lead the Consortium in the coming years by introducing strategies focused on continuity, enhanced visibility, and the prestige of the “Garda DOC” brand. The goal is to further consolidate the image of Garda wines—an area in which the Consortium has been particularly active and successful over the past seven years.
The Garda DOC Consortium also aims to continue enhancing the value of its wine excellence, with the goal of ensuring that this value is fully recognized and appreciated — both by consumers and by the producers themselves.
The Consortium will commit to the branding process of the denomination carried out in recent years, starting with the creation of a narrative and a recognizable image, well represented in the logo that accompanies communication activities. Among the objectives of the new board is the continuity of a successful project that looks forward to the realization of new challenges.
The confirmation of the corporate positions marks a phase of continuity for the Garda DOC Consortium, which aims to achieve key objectives for the future of the region.
About Garda DOC Consortium
A hilly region with unique landscape features, located between Lombardy and Veneto, protected by mountains and overlooking the largest basin in Italy: here, in the provinces of Brescia, Mantua, and Verona, lies the Garda DOC, a wine production area where special climatic conditions have shaped the qualities of the various grape species that grow here and continue to determine its characteristics. First recognized in 1996 with the aim of enhancing the varietal wines produced in the 10 historic production zones of the Garda area, the Garda DOC is a denomination driven by a strong spirit of innovation, capable of evolving over the years according to consumer needs, while respecting a product with ancient origins. After receiving ministerial recognition in 2015 and becoming operational erga omnes in 2016, today the Garda DOC Consortium represents 250 users of the denomination, giving voice to and promoting one of Italy’s most precious food and wine excellences.
