Neely Wine Announces Key Appointments to Sales & Hospitality Team

Neely Wine Adds Accomplished Sales and Hospitality Professionals to its Santa Cruz Mountains Estate Winery Team

Portola Valley, CA, Santa Cruz Mountains AVA (May 1, 2025) — Neely Wine is thrilled to announce the addition of Jason Moore and Thomas Smith to lead its Sales Team. Moore will manage Wholesale as well as Private Gatherings at Neely’s estate property. Smith will manage DTC programs, including Wine Club. Both Moore and Smith will work closely with Operations Manager Lucy Neely and Winemaker Sarah Green. “This is an exciting time for our winery,” says Neely. “The opening of our tasting room in 2023 was a paradigm shift in our ability to connect with guests and share our wines and estate. We’re grateful these skilled hands have joined the effort to meet that demand and elevate the experiences we offer.”

Smith comes to Neely from renowned Bay Area fine wine retailer, K&L Wine Merchants, where he served as a specialist buyer and wine club director. During that time, Smith developed strong roots in the Santa Cruz Mountains. “It’s an absolute thrill to build on the amazing work that the Neely team have accomplished, and at one of the Santa Cruz Mountains’ most iconic winegrowing properties,” said Smith.

Moore joins Neely after nearly 30-years in the wine business, focused on fine-dining hospitality and wholesale, most recently as co-founder and CEO of Alluvial Wines, a boutique fine-wine importer and distributor. “This is such a meaningful new chapter,” says Moore. “It’s a dream come true to work for a family-owned winery, and the stunning setting of Spring Ridge Vineyard brings daily joy and inspiration to the work.”

With the addition of these accomplished sales professionals, the Neely team and family look ahead to a promising new chapter, which coincides with the Spring Release of the first wines from the 2024 vintage.
