Honoring 30 years of viticultural excellence and 20 years of estate winemaking
April 16, 2025 (Dayton, OR) – In 2025, Stoller Family Estate raises a glass to two remarkable milestones: 30 years of estate vineyard cultivation and 20 years of winemaking on the family’s historic property in the Dundee Hills. These anniversaries celebrate Stoller’s enduring roots in Oregon wine and continued leadership in innovation, sustainability, and crafting world-class wines.
What began as a bold vision from Founder and Proprietor Bill Stoller—to transform his family’s former turkey farm into a premier vineyard—has grown into one of Oregon’s most respected wineries in the state. Thirty years since planting 10 acres each of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1995, the estate now encompasses 225 acres of LIVE-certified vines. While Pinot Noir and Chardonnay remain the heart of the vineyard, smaller plantings of Aligoté, Pinot Meunier, Tempranillo, Syrah, and more bring diversity and depth to the portfolio. Beyond the vines, the estate’s stewardship is evident in its flourishing pollinator pathway and one of the largest private oak savannas in the Pacific Northwest, reflecting a deep commitment to ecological preservation.
“My goal has always been to honor my family’s farming heritage while advancing the legacy of Oregon wines,” said Stoller. “These anniversaries reflect the hard work so many have put in to get here—and the exciting journey still ahead.”
Ten years later, in 2005, Stoller Family Estate completed construction on its Reserve Winery, which opened just in time for harvest. Designed with sustainability at its core, the pioneering facility became the world’s first LEED Gold-certified winery, underscoring Stoller’s leadership in environmental stewardship and innovation.
Today, the Reserve Winery houses the elevated Legacy Room and serves as the production heart of the brand’s Reserve, Legacy, Single Acre, and Winemaker’s Series bottlings.
“Watching Stoller Family Estate grow over the last 20 years has been nothing short of extraordinary,” said Founding Winemaker Melisa Burr. “What started with just three of us is now a powerhouse team of over 170, all dedicated to crafting wines that reflect the heart of this estate. The vineyard keeps surprising me, and the Reserve Winery gives us the tools to take our wines to the next level.”
From humble beginnings to pioneering milestones, Stoller Family Estate remains firmly grounded in its principles: to grow with purpose, craft with care, and steward the land for generations to come.
